WELCOME to the 23rd dimension

meaning to discuss improvized schemes for practical heating, cooling, etc. hoping to find flaws of any proposition so that idea may be refined in pursuit of perfection?/
keep a wet newspaper inside a sealed plastic bag handy to woodstove. if chimney fire, place unit in firebox carefully, close door, plastic melts, water steams gently, steam ascends chimney & smothers fire. shouldn't crack stove or glass & better than throwing water in.

  1. too many coals? thinx like this= if u could put those coals on a grate so that air would come from below, how long would they last?= pound the air directly into the coalbed ,if no grates, so to disintegrate the coals. might help to block secondary air intake on EPA stove for this purpose.

  2. CIRCULAR DRAFT IN CHIMNEY
imagine chimney with electric element on bottom. it heats chimney & air rises. at some point all the air will have risen & a downdraft develops so to supply more air. this air will be from top of chimney & cold= the circular draft. question here becomes how to relieve that counterflow
    flue damper
    barometric damper
    fluegas heat extractor
circular drafts will develop either from heatrise or affect of winds.

  3. Hmm... Interesting idea. Baking soda is another option. Toss it in and close the door tight.
